Mass Loaded Vinyl MLV (Soundproof Underlayment)

Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) is a material that can serve both purposes – sound barrier and sound deadening. It’s a dense, flexible material that can block sound from traveling through walls, floors, or ceilings. When applied to walls or ceilings, it helps to prevent sound transmission between rooms, making it an effective sound-blocking material.
MLV also has sound deadening properties, especially when it comes to reducing vibrations and low-frequency noise. In cars, for example, MLV is applied to panels to absorb noise and reduce vibrations, which deadens the sound within the vehicle. To sum it up, it blocks sound transmission (barrier) while also helping to absorb and reduce noise (deadening).
