Soundproofing blocks noise from passing through walls, floors or ceilings, and needs mass, sealed gaps and layers such as MLV and rockwool. Sound absorption reduces echo inside a room using soft materials such as acoustic foam and fabric panels. Many rooms need both.
Acoustic foam alone mainly controls echo inside the room. To reduce outside noise, use sound-blocking materials and seal gaps first, then add foam for echo. It will only be effective when used all together.
Prices depend on grade, quality, thickness and size. Our SIRIM Tested egg crate foam runs from about RM75 to RM250 per piece, and current prices are on each product page.
